A Revolutionary Technology With Revolutionary Design
In 2017 Hamilton celebrates the 60th anniversary of its legendary Ventura watch linewith the launch of three reinterpretations of the original model. The Ventura, which was launched on 3 January 1957, not only had an advanced design, but also wrote as the world’s first battery-operated electric watch watchmaking history. Thanks to its revolutionary movement and design, the Ventura was unique in many respects and was able to take over some famous figures, such as Elvis Presley, who was wearing it in the “Blue Hawaii” film in 1961.
Within this ceremonial triology, past and present meet in the form of a commemorative clock with quartz movement and a stainless steel case with yellow-gold PVD coating.Further references to the illustrious past of the Ventura are the brown leather bracelet with Teju pattern, the white dial with golden hour indexes and hands, as well as the discreet red tip of the second hand, which gives the ensemble an elegant retro charm.

Timeless But Modern
How can a timeless timer be reinterpreted to transform it into the present? Using timeless materials. Jeans fabric, which was extremely popular in the 1950s, when the Ventura was the light of the world, has linked many generations without ever leaving fashion. For the Ventura the fabric was used for the bracelets, while the stainless steel case framed with a 3D-look printed dial with jeans pattern, giving the timepiece a modern note.

When the Ventura came on the market in 1957, it was regarded as very futuristic. In an allusion to this perception, the fourth and final reinterpretation presents an ultramodern, skeletal design, which, on closer inspection, resembles the microphone of King Elvis.
Through the geometric cross-cipher sheet, viewers can admire the fascinating game of the automaton, which is stylishly decorated on the front, with a reserve of 80 hours, striking the rhythm of rock music that is not far away.
