Backpacking with Attack Backpack Attached

See the advantages and disadvantages and understand if backpacking backpacking models bound attack are really a good choice.

How many people ask me about these templates decide to put the advantages and disadvantages to help you in that decision.

To many people it seems inconvenient carrying the backpack and bag. To resolve this problem that many brands of backpack created the version of backpacking that comes with the bag bound attack (as these two examples in the picture above) and you can detach the bag when you want to attack.

THE REALITY DURING THE TRIP

This is how you will see most travelers in offset. With the Backpack on his back and attack backpack in front. As this photo of Alexis on our trip.

I’ve put it here on the website how important it is to have a backpack to attack the issue of safety. Travelers prefer to carry the attack backpack in front because they take all belongings of greater value in it and want to ensure that it is in the safest place during their shifts.

This situation may seem a little uncomfortable, but if you stop to think about it she only occurs in times of displacement between a city and another, and only in the offset of your hosting to the place where you will get the your transport. Soon, this should not present or 5% of the time of your trip. So no matter how hard I look is not quite that bad. And the good thing is that both hands remain free. For us this was never a problem.

BACKPACKING WITH BOUND ATTACK BACKPACK

I got two backpacking backpacking models bound attack to assess the advantages and disadvantages. I have never used in fact one of those two, so I won’t judge the comfort issue. I will be evaluating just functionality issues of layout and technical specifications of the backpack, compared to other mochilões and backpacks.

NOTE: Unfortunately it is difficult to find the Osprey backpacks for sale here in Brazil. They are more easily found in the U.S. and Europe.

IT’S WORTH BUYING ONE?

I always say that the question of the choice of backpack is too personal and ideally the person try several to see which one feels more comfortable. There are many good backpacks out there, so here at ViraVolto I rebound which characteristics are most important in time to evaluate your backpack, instead of recommending a specific model.

I’ll be very honest. I’m not too fond of this option with the backpack backpacking attack attached. And I even considered buying one of those before my trip. They’re not bad backpacks, but the fact that they offer the bag bound attack doesn’t seem a reason you choose for them. For the following reasons:

  • Comfort:when I went to buy my Pack I experienced one of those and I found more uncomfortable than the bags made for trekking. You will see that the companies put this version of the bag attached to the line of travel and trekking are considered in a different row. The trekking backpacks have structures made to bring more comfort on long walks and tend to be more comfortable for the back. I can’t speak for all brands, because at the time I tried only from Deuter, but if you want to take the test, try and see (but try weighing in – many stores offer the weights to put on backpack)
  • Security:you won’t want to leave your backpack with your valuables there on your back during the shift. She is out of your range of vision and that’s full plate for the pickpockets, who are able to open your bag and steal things without you or feel. In this case the model of Osprey seems to offer more security, the way the attack backpack stuck in backpacking. But still, this model still provides a way to attach the bag ahead of us, precisely because this issue of safety. The truth is that it is very likely that even with the bag of attack being engaged you prefer to take it on your face, as I saw some cases during the trip. So if you’re not using the “potential benefit” to the backpack offers, what difference does it make?
  • Changes to the layout of the backpacking:often the layout of backpacking is changed to attach his bag, offering some disadvantages. As was the case of the Osprey, who missed the side pockets, the upper and lower part all backpacking usually have and offers convenience. The Deuter also lost the top and side pockets.
  • Attack backpack specifications:often the attack backpack this format won’t answer to your needs. Usually the attack coupled backpack of these models is of 15-20 l only and you may not be able to put a notebook and a camera Pro, depending on the models. But if you travel with small electronic equipment there can be enough. Moreover, not always the structure of the back of the Pack of attack in this format is the most comfortable to use on a daily basis.

The traveler Tati Sesay added two more negatives to using this type of Backpack:

  • The zipper won’t hold the weight:you’re not going to use the backpack attack coupled because the zipper does not support the weight of her full, just empty. He bursts.
  • The balance will not be good:you simply won’t be able to use it coupled when full because there is an offset of your center of gravity, making you fall back (if it is well filled, of course). Unless you walk with curved back and forth, it’s not anything comfortable with both loaded.

For me the only advantage of these bags compared to other models of backpacking is to use the bag attached on the back attack, which ends up not happening often. And the backpacking just failing to offer other important features and practices. Soon, seems more advantageous to choose separately backpacking and a backpack of attack that meet your needs well and are comfortable to use on a daily basis. And then, if you have to carry the attack backpack in front only for the offsets you won’t be that bad.
